Lynchburg Smash

Super Smash Bros. has long been a loved game in Lynchburg, VA. As a college town, Lynchburg was bound to attract the attention of the beautiful, alternative fighting game. However, until the recent popularity increase in Melee spurred by the documentary and EVO, players of the game never really seemed able to band together. But in the summer of 2015, many of the local players finally met up and began trying to make something more of the community. Now, students of Lynchburg College, Randolph College, and Liberty University all play together, and are working to establish an inter-city community and make Lynchburg an overall stronger region, with consistent practice sessions and a regular tournament series.

Rapp's Reviews & Writings

Mithrintia itself didn't get involved with Smash until January of 2015, when Rapp watched his first ever Melee tournament, Apex 2015, by chance (stumbling across the stream on Twitch). Since then, it went from being a casual interest to an obsession, and Rapp is now a proud writer within the community, taking part in SSBM Rank 2015 in December of 2015, and recently, writing the occasional article for Melee It On Me. With help from Rapp's good friend Jeremy Crouch, we also will, on occasion, produce video content for Melee, usually to do with statistics and data within the competitive community.

Our Smash tournament organization group is also proud to be partnered with Western SoVa Smash!
